I hate this too. “I lived through the Cold War” So did every human being alive right now over the age of like 40, who cares? You literally didn’t do anything during that time but be alive. You have no special insight

No all art is art, even if its bad or made for shock value. Art doesn’t have to be “artistic” or deep.

I get your point about overanalyzing things that don’t need to be. But i don’t think that means that its any less art. All movies are art. I don’t think all movies should be analyzed the same way and to the same degree, because they aren’t all trying to do the same thing, right? There’s differemt genres, different things that the artists involved are trying to achieve. Something Stepbrothers or Anchor Man are trying to do something different than The Godfather, or Citizen Kane, or whatever - but theyre all still movies - they’re all still art.

I would argue that mario kart is as much a work of art as any “art game.” I’d also make the same arguement for films. Art of any kind doesn’t have to be good, or prestigious, or “arty” to still be art.

That thread is really something. Like every picture of Ukrainian soldiers has some fascist symbol or other, but they still say there’s no Nazis in Ukraine.

I’m kind of an old and email was never used for regular chat at like any time lol

Maybe I won’t use it for anything except getting people’s contact info in these situations.

This is exactly what I did. I posted like three pics of my dog, and put it on private and never really use it except for that purpose.

I have never used any social media before or had an account on anything else, but something changed and people started treating instagram like a phone number, which is weird to me but that’s the way it is now.

Don’t feel like you must do this, but just wanted to say you’re not the only person to do no social media, but felt the need to open an instagram
