Are you suggesting that disparaging the whole community and making blatantly fallacious arguments stops being toxic behavior just because he tried to take refuge in audacity? If it had been tongue-in-cheek I can maybe see that, but in my opinion his intent clearly remained mean-spirited.

Leave it up and let the community rip them a new ass. That’s much better optics than deleting and banning.

He is not disparaging the whole community. As you said “there must be zero personal powered vehicles” is not a position the community has.

You can’t say “fallacious arguments” AND “disparaging the whole community”

Only one of the two can be accurate. IMO it’s fallacious arguments, which is not a good reason to remove or ban IMHO.

The reaction to stupid arguments should be good arguments or education, not removal.

You assume a whole lot about the person, if this is the only mistake he made. Maybe its just a 15yo who seriously doesn’t understand the difference. If he has a (long) history of purposefully misunderstanding the point and derailing its a different story. If not you are banning him for a bad argument you don’t agree with. That’s absolutely power tripping reddit mod behavior.
