An ad hominem is an attempt to refute an argument by using a personal attack. I didn’t attempt to refute anything, I just insulted you. So it’s not an ad hominem, because I’m not arguing with you, I’m dismissing you entirely because I don’t think you or your viewpoint is important enough to me to waste my time discussing it further.
