With some of the extreme summers we have had last years you almost forget what the weather is supposed to be over here: clouds, some sun, 22 degrees Celsius, rain. It’s how this specific corner of the earth became a very habitable one in the first place. But since it’s not 28-30+ degrees and blaring sun, people are now saying we have a shit summer. I’m glad the weather is ‘normal’ for a few weeks now.

Same thing in southern Europe. This summer has basically been in reverse, we touched 40c in June and we are now comfortably in the 25-30c range. IDK about you or other people but I would give my first born son to have all summers be like august has been so far.

Also 30/40 years ago, before climate change became so extreme, all summers used to be like this. I vividly remember when we reached 40c for the first time and I was shocked, it’s normal now.

It’s nice to not melt away in my own home every day. I’ll never forget our first 40+ degree day some years ago while working in an office that had mandatory long sleeve shirt + pants rules. Without AC. Felt like dying.
