Lots of people are pumped full of anti-Trans hysteria, anti-Trans propaganda, and ideological dogma about gender. And if one of these people finds out a friend or a family member is coming out as transgender, and doesn’t know how to process that news politely, I cannot imagine how telling them “You’re a child fucker” helps anyone. Least of all anyone who has actually experienced sexual assault as a child.
Turning pedophile into an insult rather than a crime just further weaponizes it for folks with the biggest megaphones. That’s how you get “The Sound of Freedom” mobilizing lynch mobs of know-nothing bigots.
