YES. I fucking hate when I’m watching a video (on YouTube of all places) and I hear someone unironically use a different, almost-unrelated word or phrase for something entirely different.

Like “unaliving” is the stupidest fucking thing instead of just saying “kill/dead.” Take your fuckin pick too, they’re all just as ridiculous.

One of the nicest things about having your own platform (or as close to self hosted as possible platforms) is that you can, within reason, rant in any way of your choosing. Use the language you want to use. You can say fuck, shit, etc…

Now you also may get flack from it, and thats fine. Thats how the internet always worked. If you say the Nword for example, sure I would expect people to get angry. But platforms are now dictating language. And that is not ok. Because we need to talk about serous stuff sometimes, and I dont want to censor my language.

I truly do not get why people get so upset about language changing. It’s always changing, someone at the right place at the right time says a silly word and suddenly it goes viral or some event makes people adopt some word in an unusual context or whatever. Teens come up with their own lingo (because of course they do, they are kids, they need to develop an identity separate from the older generation) and it lives on. And new language is obviously especially likely to spring when there is a need to go under the radar even a little bit. I think it’s fun to watch.
