Strange New Worlds season 3 premieres on Thursday, July 17, 2025 with 2 episodes. Seems they’ve adopted the Disney+ tactic of having more than 1 episode to start off. Kinda weird when there’s only 10 episodes per season these days.
Learning that Strange New Worlds is only a month out:
Dammit I thought it was June 17 🤦🏻♂️
At least now you know and that’s half the battle.
i just got to season 2 of DS9.
Stay the course.
DS9 “grows the beard” while simultaneously “shaving the head” by 3’s end to signify that shit’s getting good.
the lwaxana episodes were a lot better this time through. i feel like i relate to her a little more each rewatch.
By then she’s not looked upon as a nuisance as framed by Picard and Deanna. Of course, she still causes shenanigans, but definitely embodies more of the human experience and the importance of not giving a fuck.
I’m now through TOS, TNG, DS9, the (old) movies and into season two of ENT, skipped only TAS (idk, don’t care much about it) and VOY (I just don’t like it so I don’t care). My Old Trek rerun is coming to a close and I am not looking toward the emptiness I’m gonna be left with afterwards.
This is part of why I do not start watching a series until it is complete. I hate the wait for the next episode, but if I have never watched any of it, I do not mind the wait until I get to watch the first episode.
I get it, but that’s also part of why some series go out early. Lack of engagement during rollout. Mostly, it’s studio planning (or lack thereof), but low numbers grab their attention.
In this case,at least, the show has its last season already set. I just wonder if that sort of thing may have affected Prodigy. But then I remember it’s Netflix, so no, they’re just bastards. Oh well.
Eh, STD turned me off from all of nuTrek. Soulless cashgrabs
Understandable. DISCO is the most JJ/Kurtzman centric of the 3rd era.
If you’re fond of trivia and oddball humor, Lower Decks is fun.
Strange New Worlds makes a solid effort to use the TOS medium, but presented in more modern sensibility/storytelling/cinematography.
Prodigy is largely about maintaining a sense of wonder and positivity (for the sake of kids programming), but has plenty to offer for Trek fans.
