Why would they even try to target a platform where 95% of the people are just shitposting as if their lives depended on it and 5% are mentally ill.

4chan is a hub for misinformation and conspiracies. Its full of racist, misogynistic, and overall hateful content. That content is not moderated at all how you think it is. It is a breeding ground of hate.
Disagree mostly - while there are those boards, like /pol/ or /b/, there’s also normal boards with … I wouldn’t say “normal” people, but relatively speaking, sane people.
4chan is barely moderated.
Overall, I saw a lot more hate on reddit than on 4chan. But mostly because I’m not a /pol/ user.

Idk, there were a lot of subreddits spewing hate, and they were online for years before public pressure mounted and they shut it down. Hell, we had shit like “abuseporn” which was online for over 4 years until it was randomly found by a journalist and then shut down lmao.
Youll never change my mind that the content on reddit was ever more cruel or unmoderated. And 4chan has been around MUCH longer than reddit.
Unmoderated? No. Cruel? Yes.
I’ve been quite active on both platforms for over a decade. Reddit has definitely more cruel content and more cruel people.
