❗️❗️Traitor and war criminal Mykhailo Hrytsai was eliminated in occupied Berdyansk
On June 18, 2025, in temporarily occupied Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region, collaborator, traitor, and war criminal Hrytsay Mykhailo Pavlovich was shot dead.
▪️Hrytsaj is originally from Poltava region. He lived in Berdyansk. He headed the branch of the Socialist Ukraine party. After the enslavement of the city in 2022, he voluntarily cooperated with the Russian invaders and received a position in the occupation administration - he was the so-called acting mayor and at the same time deputy for infrastructure, housing and utilities, and the fuel and energy complex.
De facto plundered state property in occupied Berdyansk in the interests of Muscovites.
▪️Involved in war crimes - terrorized the population of the occupied city, handed over pro-Ukrainian citizens to Muscovites, and participated in organizing torture in the territory of Berdyansk.
Hrytsay was notified in absentia of suspicion in criminal proceedings opened on April 1, 2022 under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason).
☠️The General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reminds that there will be fair retribution for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people.
Yeah that’s what I figured. Leaves a bit of a foul taste in my mouth since I highly doubt that the death penalty is the correct sentence according to Ukrainian penal code. Look, don’t get me wrong, I won’t be crying any tears of the death of this human POS, it’s just sad to see that even in the Ukrainian side the goal legitimises the means
Russian occupied Ukraine is a warzone, civil justice doesn’t operate there. Resistance fighters eliminating collaborators is pretty standard procedure. You should read up on the resistance movements in Nazi occupied Europe during WWII for example.
Oh no doubt hence me saying that I don’t care about the dead criminal. I just don’t want to condone this because I don’t want the rule of law to be undermined. But yeah since there likely won’t be Nuremberg style criminal proceedings, this is probably the only way to get some justice
High treason is the death penalty in the US. I’m not really sure why you have a bad taste about this, they could have just killed the guy like they kill Russian commanders who order strikes on civilian targets, having a trial in absentia is more than I’d have done in their situation.
