The rise, decline, and surprising rise of Sonic the Hedgehog is a fascinating tale, and no one is more familiar with it than Takashi Iizuka.
I remember when the first looks at (or poster of) the sonic movie came out, and it was ripped to shreds.
A prominent visual redesign of sonic went viral, and - credit where credits due - the studio reworked the movie to adopt the changes.

All these years later, I still can’t believe they got Tyson Hesse, the guy who did this ridiculous Sonic fan comic, to oversee the redesign of the Sonic model for the film. What a crazy world we live in.
God he looks so gross. I honestly can’t really remember when those first trailers came out, but I still kinda do.
