      Can’t you just check your bank account?

      I have “saved” a lot of money over the years … yet my bank account doesn’t reflect that.

      What the hell was the point of your original question 😂

        As I suspected, it was just a play on “saved” as if I didnt go spend that same money on groceries and clothing for my kids.

        edit: Actually makes me wonder if u/raindog is german or austrian. Reminds me of their sense of “humor”.

      The difference is you haven’t stopped buying cars after doing so your entire adult life. Because in that case the statement that you’ve saved money by changing your habits would absolutely be justified.
