Oh my god, she’s raised a leg and put her foot on a chair! In front of a camera!

My good man this image MUST be labeled as ‘NSFTV’

The furniture makes this look like one of those old timey recreation portraits you could get taken at the mall.

I’d take any one of them if they pursued me. Not sure I have the confidence to pursue any of them atm. But I would befriend them quickly out of respect for that one picture alone. That’s some serious badassery right there. It might not seem like much to younger viewers, but at the time? This was dangerous protest.

I asked my grandparents about some B&W photos of their wedding where their faces looked suspiciously smooth compared to the rest of the image. Apparently they were touched up by hand.

(Not saying that’s what has happened here, you could be right and it’s a modern edit)

Either way, it doesn’t really matter. The voice of the photo is what matters, not the reality. In today’s times, you have to take them as they are, not as they come off. AI and the Internet as a whole has given a voice to people who shouldn’t be given a voice. We have to evolve to keep up.

          not the reality

Knowing how, when and why something was altered is very important. It tells you a lot about the people involved, their motivations and even their “voice” as you put it.
