Just running the launcher through Steam worked after all else failed. I used to run it through Lutris, but something prevented me from doing it again after upgrading my OS.
I’d honestly kick Blizzard and their games to the curve, but alas, there’s 2 games my little friend group defaults to and refuses to move on from. So I’m stuck with it if I want to play with them.
But why
Well, you see, some folks love mayonnaise. Some want the eggs in the mayonnaise to be from free range chickens. Some want to wip their own mayonnaise cause they enjoy the craft and the control over the ingredients origin that it offers.
But what if the quality of writing in modern mayonnaise is so bad and inconsistent with mayonnaise of yore that you have developed mayonnaise intolerance? Also, this mayonnaise vendor has done a lot of scummy practices over the years, from not paying the mayonnaise makers a living wage to covering up sexual harassment and abuse of said mayonnaise makers. I guess what I’m saying is “fuck mayonnaise”.

That’s why some people want to enjoy classic mayonnaise … like StarCraft.
Huh. I didn’t know you could access that from Battle.Net. I had a pirate copy on CD at release, but eventually bought a legit copy. I thought I downloaded it from their website. Battle.Net was only for WoW.
Yeah, all my original CDs are somewhere in an attic, maybe. I bought the remaster version for €10 a few years back, which is pretty nice.
Heroes of the Storm, SC2 and Overwatch where battle.net only on release, I think.
I think they move everything but WC1 to battle.net these days.
Oh I thought you were questioning the practice of whipping your own mayonnaise.
Oh buddy, I have whipped. Why mayo, btw? Kind of random. I approve.
Oh cause it’s my favourite emulsion.
Understandable. It is, after all, a vital ingredient in cole slaw.
