I want to remove anime, k-pop, video games, sports, region-specific, tv/movie, “anarchy”/“everything sucks” and plenty of other entire categories from my “All” feed, but blocking is a never-ending effort.

The standard is implemented by multiple vendors, Just like HTTP Basic Auth is. It is not Google specific
Using “All” is the best way to find those. How else are you really supposed to?
