alias ls=“who am i >> /var/log/intruder.log && logout”
alias l=“/usr/bin/ls”
DeuxChevaux@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People who don't live in a jurisdiction with unconditional *jus soli*, would you be in support of unconditional *jus soli* in your country? Why or Why not?1·7 days agoFully agree. I would add that a child should be able to opt out in case their ‘other country’ does not allow multiple citizenships.
DeuxChevaux@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How Would The World Look Like Without Any News Organizations?1·11 days agoWe would have to go a long way back, before religions became the first worldwide media outlets. Hard to imagine how we would do in a Neanderthal world. Must have been rad.
DeuxChevaux@lemmy.worldto science@lemmy.world•We need to stop pretending AI is intelligentEnglish172·12 days agoSo why is a real “thinking” AI likely impossible? Because it’s bodiless.
Why would anything need a body to be intelligent? Just because we have bodies and whoever said that cannot imagine different forms of life/intelligence? Not that i think, current LLMs have the experience and creativity to be called intelligent. i just don’t think that everything that’s intelligent needs an arse :)

DeuxChevaux@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Are there any examples of Linux (desktop) viruses that are actively or were recently in circulation?18·17 days agoI think, on a personal Linux desktop, more damage is done by malicious browser extensions than by actual viruses or root kits. So you could classify it as social engineering, maybe.
DeuxChevaux@lemmy.worldto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Do you think sometimes privacy practices of people at c/privacy or r/privacy communities are overparanoid or take things too far?12·17 days agoOnce, someone sent me an Amazon link for baby nappies, and fool me clicked on it. Now Amazon showed boomer me baby nappies suggestions for the next six months. AI at its best… These things annoy me, so I try to avoid being tracked whenever reasonably possible.
OTOH, I am old and hope to not live long enough to experience any rogue government or whatever else persecuting me for having clicked on a baby nappies link years ago; so my threat model is short term only. I keep my privacy to a level, where it hopefully prevents as many annoyances as possible, but does not hamper what I am doing online too much. If I was younger, I’d likely do more.
DeuxChevaux@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you become romantically involved with someone with vastly different religious views?101·19 days agoSame here. I am not interested in religion (so not even really atheist), wife is Buddhist doing Buddhist things. Married for 40 years this year, and it’s not an issue.

Unfortunately, I was just evicted, as the little building will be demolished and replaced by “gentrification”…

However, I did block some communities, mostly meme- or politics related, so I can briefly browse the “all” category once in a while.

Rechtschreib- oder Grammatikfehler können die Entscheidungen der HR Leute negativ beeinflussen.
Schön, dass es hin und wieder auch gute nachrichten gibt.
