It happens. It’s very hard to get good and reliable sources of informations on a war, specially one that’s just starting and that is already seeing a lot of the “media blackout”, that’s been developed in Ukraine with time, from the start. So, it may be a few more weeks until we begin to get more reliable sources with geolocation or satellite images…

Russia hasn’t fully understood their position and what’s best for them even after over a decade of conflict, with 3 years of direct war, so I don’t expect Iran to wake up so soon unless they get a new and better leadership.
China doesn’t seem to be learning much either, considering they did nothing when they had a big chance with the attack on their officials by the colonists a few weeks back.
It was probably just the billionaries getting their big cut from it.

For example, there were talks of Iran downing jets (not sure if from official sources or not) but so far nothing materalized, and I wasn’t expecting it to either. Not until the first confirmation.
Another one isbthat we have western media saying that Iran is scared and Iran officially saying they’ll fight no matter what. So far Iran’s claims are most likely closer to the truth, but things haven’t been going for long enough for me to make any predictions for the next months with any confidence.
I doubt I will trust anything coming out of the west unless I already knew about it from good sources or it’s an action, but it doesn’t mean I’ll believe whatever Iran says either.
After following the situations in Syria and Ukraine for a while, the best thing I do is to not take anything either side has to say unless there is some evidence about it. The bigger the claim the more evidence is needed, until then I treat it as propaganda/misdirection and look at why they would say such things…

The best propaganda (really the only good propaganda) is true.
You can see a lot of this in western propaganda, but a lot of it is just the propaganda accusing the other side of what the west is actually doing.
So yeah, it could be that the story is true. It could also be that it’s just the west accusing others of what they are/were doing like it happens a lot. Or it could even be both cases, but this isn’t evidnce of anything (although I would be very surprised if the projection hypothesis isn’t true).
After the west attacked Russia’s nuclear warfare related capabilities (bombers now but also radars months ago) they are in a position that they need to respond to such attacks and allying Iran could be a really good way to derail a lot of the imperialist plans right now.
Exactly this. All that matter from the first help is that Iran be willing to strike them.
