  • Wait … you’re local? I intended to go today, but my Street Medics chaperone got sick yesterday, which I only learned about when reaching out to finalize plans around 1030.

    I’m 45 and have never been to a true protest, let alone covered one (I got pressed into reporting in college from time to time, but those weren’t protests so much as students sitting around for a couple of hours). I was hoping to get eased into it today, but alas. I mean, it’s not as though more of these aren’t coming down the pike, but it sure as fuck gets hotter from here.

    I honestly don’t know how others engaged in “journalism” were willing to look the other way. “Because they needed to provide for their families” or some shit? You cease to be a journalist when you compromise your ethics. You’re now in marketing or PR.
