Magic is the same way. The bigger the claim of the spell the harder it is to do the ritual. That way you are more invested in it working. When you look at very simple spells the claims are much smaller. Like a rope binding ceremony. Takes a few minutes and it claims to make you feel a bit better about stuff vs one spell that claims you can talk to demons but only if you basically live without food showering and sleep for a month.

I don’t see why calling for a ceasefire is such a non-starter. Everyone there can go back to work butchering each other more effectively if they are well rested.

Just throwing it out there: most libraries do have one late night day a week, there are probably a million people on earth right at this moment that would love to play a tabletop game with you or take a zoom class, every single area has clubs/associations/charities that would love some new faces.

Don’t expect the universe to give you companionship. You need to do it yourself

Might be local government. Me and sales have this argument pretty often

Sales: no one noticed it except you

Me: thanks?

Sales: no one is going to care

Me: then take it out of the spec and resign everything.

Sales: why are you making a big deal about this?

Me: because it is in the spec that we signed and if we don’t honor the spec they can backcharge us.

Sales: that won’t happen

Me: you are right because we are going to follow the spec. If you don’t want me to please email me, the department head, and the client specifically ordering me not to follow the contract that we signed.
