I’ve never used it either so take this with a massive grain of salt.
And you’re lucky, most workers in the USA do not get paid sick leave, because that’s not in the law.

I come from a “developing” third rate country. We’ve had paid sick leave and paid maternity leave since the 60s I think. Maternity leave was upgraded from 4 to 6 months about 10 years ago.
PS.: you need a doctor’s note the day you’re back to get sick leave, which you can get for free on universal healthcare if you can wait, or pay for private practice in a private clinic.

The USA really is a shithole.

acockworkorange@mander.xyzto TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•On one of the sides of the Quantum Fissure...4·2 days agoI suggest re-watching TNG then. It holds up surprisingly well, and watching it with the eyes of an adult is completely different.
I had watched it first as a kid too and can wholeheartedly recommend this approach. I even cried a little at the series finale, felt like saying goodbye to some good friends.

Makes sense, but wouldn’t it be better to end the series with a bang rather than a whimper? Then you can start a new series in the franchise, capture the viewerbase again and attract new people.
Both. But distilled is at best ion poor. It’s not recommended use either exclusively for your source of water.
A good filter on tap is enough for the vast majority of houses. If that’s not your case, mineral water or regular bottled water (which is just filtered tap water from a reliable source) are your best bet.
And it’s cheaper too! Not common that you choose both healthy and cheap.
